Who we are

OshawaPlumbers.ca provides plumbing information and handles quote requests for Oshawa, Ontario.

Information we collect

Information you submit: name, email address, optional phone number, neighbourhood or postal code, service type, urgency, problem description and optional photo.
A record of the consent you gave and when.
A one-way hashed form of your IP address, used only to prevent spam and abuse.
If analytics is enabled, aggregated usage data through Google Analytics with IP anonymization.

Why we collect it

To respond to your plumbing request, to contact you about your request, to prevent abuse, and to improve the website.

Sharing

With your express consent, we may pass your request details (including any photo) to one or more plumbers who serve Oshawa, solely so they can respond to your request. They are responsible for their own handling of your information. We do not sell your personal information.

Electronic messages

We and any plumber receiving your request will contact you only about that request. We do not send marketing messages without separate consent, consistent with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

Storage and security

Requests are stored in a protected database and private file storage accessible only to authorized administrators. Data may be stored on servers outside Canada operated by our service providers.

Retention

We keep requests only as long as reasonably necessary to respond and for basic record-keeping, then delete them.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law (including PIPEDA), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and withdraw consent. See our contact page for how to make a request. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes

We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do.
